Ken McGunnigle

Ken is a founding director of McGunnigle Hodge. Ken originally qualified as a scientist before moving into his current field. Ken is a Registered and Chartered Quantity Surveyor and Chartered Builder with a customer focussed approach to problem solving. Prior to Ken qualifying with a Masters Degree in Architecture from Auckland University in 1998, he gained wide experience in construction with his first refurbishment project in 1974. Ken has worked in Britain, Egypt, Qatar and Australia.  Ken worked in Australia as a Project Administrator for a year before immigrating to New Zealand. He then spent four years as a Commercial Manager and Senior Quantity Surveyor with two New Zealand construction companies.

Ken now pursues his Building Surveying activities with McGunnigle Hodge Ltd and is highly experienced in the investigation of building defects. Ken is a weathertightness remediation specialist and was accepted in July 2004 as a founder member of the Weathertightness Remediation Panel of the New Zealand Institute of Building Surveyors.

Ken is also an associate member of the Arbitrators and Mediators Institute of New Zealand, this expertise assists in delivering the required input as an expert witness for mediations, arbitrations or high court.
